Vernal

A gorgeous drive from Salt Lake City to Vernal!  We really enjoyed the changing views.   When we arrived there was no snow on the nearby mountains  - by the time we left it was pretty white!

Then we arrived at Vernal, UT and had 48 hours of dinosaurs!  Vernal is known as Dinosaurland for good reason. This small town is near Dinosaur National Monument, and the Utah Field House of Natural History.   We enjoyed both very much.  The National Monument is actually a building built around an actual dig site!   They have partially exposed some of the bones so you can see what is seen when they first come across an area of bones.

The Field House was also great.   We watched the short video and explored.  There were several dinosaurs we had never heard of.   Bill liked the ones outside the best!

One of the best things about having a campground at the end of the park - away from everyone else not that it was very busy - and near an apple tree was the visitors.   We saw a mule deer and this large group (14) turkeys enjoying some dinner right outside the trailer.
