We enjoyed our time in Park Rapids - such a cute town! We went to Itasca State Park again to see the Mississippi headwaters. On the way we saw a bear! Okay, I admit that the photo shown is not my photo - I was too shocked to see it so close so I missed the shot but it looked just like it!

We had a really fun weekend at Wilderness Bay Resort! The owners, Jenn and Scott are amazing! They have truly built a wonderful place here and go out of their way to help each guest to feel welcome and relaxed. We got extra special treatment since Bill and Scott went to High School together.

Scott grilled burgers for us one night and took us out on their pontoon the second night, ending with a fire. It was a gorgeous night and fun to get to know them both better. Along the ride we got to see a osprey on her nest and an eagle perched in a nearby tree. Plus LOONS! How I love to listen to them call at night. And turtles - anyone who knows me knows I love turtles and humming birds!!

The next day we played on their beach in the water with all their water toys -what a great variety of things to play with!! We had never seen the upright bike on the water before. Bill said it pedaled fine but steering was a bit tough! They even provided pedicures with small sunnies nipping at your toes! LOL
