Nova Scotia
What an amazing trip! Kim and Cindy and I went in October to Nova Scotia to honor mom. She wanted to go there as one last trip before she started having health issues. Unfortunately, she was never well enough to go. So we went for her - toasting her all the way. We had a great time thinking about what she would have loved - the wineries, cliffs, driftwood and fall colors as well as what she would have hated - the ferry trip over and the long car rides.
Day 1 - after Kim got into Portland, ME - we rented our car. Cindy upgraded us to a Renegade Jeep and boy did we have a ball with that! Kim started things off right with a lobster sandwich!
We started in Bar Harbor the first night and went to Acadia National Park the next day. We standed away from the crazy areas everyone goes and explored some less known areas of the park. That was wonderful. We did go up Cadillac Mountain.
That afternoon we took a 3.5 hour CAT ferry from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. After a LONG drive across the island - we landed in Cliffy Cove. We visited Peggy's Cove the next day before heading to adddsdssd. We enjoyed exploring that area
Kim found us an AMAZING airbnb right on a bay in Medway. We even saw a seal one day in the bay! We had a wonderful time exporing - stopping at wineries and eating great seafood. Lunenburg was definitly a highlight.
Of course the many lighthouses dotting the coast are always a draw. We saw some wonderful ones!
We took a trip back to the west side to see Bay of Fundy. We missed the low tide - it was either 5am or 5pm which was too early and too late. But we still had fun. We also stopped at Park Kekimkujik.
The last night was in Halifax where Kim and I enjoyed a final lobster dinner.
PS - the photos don't even begin to do the colors justice.
