Lake Havasu City
Lake Havasu City is probably most famous for the London Bridge that was brought over piece by piece and reassembled here in the late 1960s by a private individual in hopes to sell real estate in the area. There was no water running under it and a canal had to be dredged between a peninsula and Lake Havasu making that area an island.
We took a fun day trip around some interesting cities. Cool Springs gas station (what a history that place has including being blown up for a movie and then carefully reassembled!), Oatman (named for Olive Oatman...what an incredible story of survival) , Kingman, Needles and Bullhead City. Such unique things in every area!
There is a ferry that runs from Lake Havasu City over to a casino on the CA side. We enjoyed riding over enjoying the waves. We aren't big casino folks but we enjoyed the boat!
