We had a fun stay near my birth town of Clearwater.   

We started by exploring St Pete's Pier.  What a gorgeous area and so fun to people watch there.  We went up to a Teaki restaurant at the end of the pier to have a delicious bowl of clam chowder with incredible views.  Even the bathroom had views of the lake - and the sailboat class in the water. Then we took a hike around Sawgrass Lake where we saw a big gator sunning and an armadillo!   

We had a perfect temp day when we headed to Honeymoon State Park.   After that we went to Frenchys for fishbone pretzel and  a world famous grouper sandwich - very good.   Then we took a stroll along the white sands of Clearwater Beach.
