Havre

Our first time in Montana! The landscape is changing constantly as we travel west... from flat ranches full of grain and cattle to sudden cliffs and mountains. We have been enjoying exploring.

We had a fun stay in Havre visiting BIll's sister and her husband. They were wonderful hosts taking us to see many sites in and around the city. Our favorite had to be Havre Beneath the Streets. When fire destroyed most of Havre in 1904, business owners moved underground to carry on their business until the town could be rebuilt above ground. What remains under the street is a fascating labyrinth of spaces and tunnels showing what it looked like. The photos don't begin to do the space justice.

A bit chilly out!

We saw several deer - town deer Sher called them - just wandering around the in people's yards eating bushes and flowers - very unafraid.
