South Padre Island 2022 and 2025
South Padre is a favorite destination of ours... the island feel and beach everywhere always delights me. Our second time here feels rather different then our first stay last January. I am not sure why but there may be a few factors.
Last year Covid was new and terribly frightening. While it is still scary - it isn't the massive monster it once was.
The island seems much less crowded. It could be this campground isn't as crowded but feels like less people here now then late January. Much fewer people. We also didn't go inside any stores.
We are no longer newbies to RV life
Because we have been here before - we don't feel a need to rush and see everything. We have some favorites - exploring a few new things but also taking time to relax and enjoy it.
We will miss the beaches and beautiful sand.

January 2022
We went back to South Padre in 2025. We had a fun time staying with Ger and Pat and a bonus - Pat's sisters were also in town! Fun times with Debbie, Carrie and Janet. There was a turtle release that was awesome to watch - the turtles were stunned with the cold weather in the ocean and were taken in by the turtle rescue and released back on the warmer bay side
