Arches, Canyonland & Capital Reef

We were in Arches a number of years ago so it was fun to go back and explore.   We had a gorgeous day - you could really see the mountains!   Were they there when we were here before?  LOL!

Our day at Canyonland was very hazy for some reason so the views and photos are not as bright as we thought they would be.   We still enjoyed a couple of short hikes to see the overlooks.   I bet when the haze clears and the river is up more it is a gorgeous site.

Capital Reef was a perfect sunshine - temperature day.  We took several hikes here and of course - bought some fruit pies!

The Organ

La Sal Mountain views!

These white flowers were everywhere

We did NOT take that 4 wheel road down

views

Bill does not like the height!

Cool arch

Mountains beyond

River views

Colors were pretty but muted with haze

Very cool to see the river below

Deep canyon cuts

Capital Reef

Heading in to the park

So odd to suddenly see green fruit trees in amoung the rocks

Old farmstead - now bakery and store

Guess they were feeling shy

Had to get pie

Pretty good!

Bighorn sheep!

Just hanging out

We watched them a bit.

The rocks keep changing colors!

Down into the canyon we go!

Walking back into the gorge.

Not all the signatures were the pioneers but most were

A lot of 1880's which are reported as 'real'

Heading out again

Colors are so gorgeous

Goblin State Park

Coming in it is just flat land - then suddenly...

The three sisters appear

Then an entire valley of goblins as far out as you can see

Some are lined up in  neat rows

Some just hanging alone

We had fun playing in them!

These are more like toadstools

All unique

Around town in Green River

We went out to see a gyser

It was not flowing

But the area was cool

And we go to see real cowboys in a round up!
