Yankton
What a gorgeous campsite! Bill got the best one in the whole campground with a pull through - right on the water. We spent a lot of time at the site just watching the neighboring kids fish and there were a LOT of fish! It was mostly small bass and bluegills.
We did go to the Dam Fish Shack. It is a cute little place with outdoor seating. Someone on Yelp described it as rather like a Maine restaurant feel and surprisely it was. We had catfish and hushpuppies. They were good - but the wine slushy was really good! Our favorite part was when the order was ready they called your name and said come pick up your "dam" order! Tee hee!!
We also visited the Niseen Family winery nearby in Hartington, NE. It is a cute place - decent wine. The woman pouring the wine gave us some history lessons about Kid Wade who lived in the area in the late 1800's. Many of the wines were named after him and his colorful band of outlaws. But mostly it was fun to sit on the glider outside and watch the grapes grow. :)

Northern Nebraska has been a pleasant surprise for us. We expected flat, dry land with nothing for miles and miles. It has been some flat farmland but then suddenly an area of green rolling hills and a cute little town. We have enjoyed our travels here.
