Salem

We enjoyed our time in Salem the first time in 2017.  It was fun to explore the city but sad to read the stories of those accused and put to death.   We went to a winery where we meet the great-great-(maybe another great) grand niece of Susannah Martin.  It was so interesting to hear her story about how the family continues to fight for the land that was taken from her all those years ago.  It made visiting her bench so much more real and frightening.  

We visited again in 2022 during Halloween but we were disappointed how little the city was celebrating.  The crowds were there - a few people were dressed up.  Maybe it comes alive at night but we didn't stick around to find out.
