Washington DC

Washington DC has been very interesting. We have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been to get around and how most things to see are free. Even the Ford Theater and the house Lincoln died in were free.

I love the statue with the man and the horse called Man Controlling Trade... Had to have a picture of General Grants statue of course!

I hadn't heard of the Smithsonian Castle. That was fun to go in and just get a very quick overview of the museums - gorgeous building. The historic stories here are amazing.

The National Christmas tree was much, much smaller then we thought! It was fun to see the White House - but Bill waited for a long time for the president to come out and wave but no luck!

Wonderful buildings and history all over this town.

Look at that traffic! It was a bit crazy when we came back from the zoo. We thought 3pm was early enough to avoid it but guess not... the tunnel looked Christmas.
