Stanley

Our stop in Stanley was primarily to visit Jay, a fellow football player of Bill's from UWLC days. We had fun exploring the lake in Jay's pontoon. Then he took us out in the FAST sparkling red boat on Holcombe Flowage- that was a treat! We stopped at Ted's Timberlodge for some delcious burgers for lunch.

We spent an afternoon in Chippenwa Falls area. We visited the local zoo with some exotic animals and did a tasting at Leinenkugal Brewery. There is a thought on my mother's side that somehow Leinenkugals are a distance relative of mine but my cousins tried to reach out to them and were rejected so I didn't try to pull any connections! We did enjoy sitting outside doing a tasting.

The campground was very wooded and quiet. It was fun to hear the screech owls and hoot owls calling to each other at night.

Pontoon ride with Jay

Diana - those are not mountains in the background - just clouds!

We enjoyed seeing this field of Sand Cranes

Leinenkugal tasting

These guys were at the zoo - not exactly sure what they were but those horns were massive

Nice campground with the lake just outside

Half-way between the equator and the north pole.

Stopping for lunch

Can't capture the sparkles but they were there!

Going fast!!!
