Minnesota in July
As usual, we had a lot going on being near family and friends this past week. It's always wonderful to have time together!
We started by spending time with Steve, Marzi and the kids - always the highlight for me!
Friday night we went to a Saints Game with Julia and her friend, Hannah. So much fun to catch up with those two. The game was 0-3 until the last inning when the Saints finally pulled out runs ending with 4-3. The fireworks aftewards were fun to see.
It was great to spend time with family and friends and catch up on their lives. Thanks Kate and Dan for meeting us for lunch! Then I went to the Immersive Van Gogh experience with my sister and brother in law. Bill opted out of that one chosing to use our gift certificate for Excelsior Brewery! :) It was an interesting experience. In some ways more then I expected... the visuals ... espcially his self protrait... were incredible displayed that large. in other ways disappointing. In particular, I found the music to be distracting and not fit the visuals. Plus Starry Night did not work at all at that size. It was too spread out and seemed like random swirls. That was sad.
Barbara and Bill joined us for the show Margartaville at the Old Log Theater. I thought it was very fun and clever how they made a play out of the Jimmy Buffet songs. Lots of energy in the cast!
We finally got to see the movie Lost City. Another interesting experience at a Cinema Grill theater with waitress service - all through the movie. The chairs were set up at tables instead of the new comfy recliners. Different - not sure it was better but at $3 a ticket - can't really complain! Then it was back to the campground for more fireworks and a campfire with Julia.
