Parker's Dam

We had 2 stops near Lake Havasu - Cattail Cove State Park and Lake Havasu State Park. Both were great locations near the Lake. We took a great hike along the waters edge and explored the nearby town of Parker - not too much there.

We also took a day trip to Joshua National Park. The Joshua trees were fun to see. Some are so twisted with arms in all directions.

Sparkling lake - so clear!

See the trail we took

Colorado Desert in Joshua National Park

Along the hwy is a random "shoe fence" - no idea why

Also this area next to it-guess you can add your shoes to the mix...

Suddenly big boulders are all over the area.

Jumping cholla are very dangerous with tiny hairlike spines with hooks that need only light contact to penetrate skin

There was an entire field of them - we did NOT walk out into it!

Finally we arrived at the Mojave desert and begin to see Joshua trees!

They are somewhat sparse due to a fire a few years ago but coming back
