Wabasha
Wabasha was fun to visit. We enjoyed spending time just sitting and watching the traffic on the Mississippi River. We also saw a HUGE barge - 3 deep and 5/6 long! Later we stopped at Dam #4 and watched a barge go through the lock. Interesting process. We walked through the town and stopped in a few stores. We had to go in the chocolate shoppe and just sniff all the goodness.
We drove a loop from Winona across the river and back. We stopped at Lark Toys. I would highly recommend a stop if you are near Kellogg. It is a toy store but also a museum, carousel and mini-golf...so much more. We also went through a cemetary to find the headtone of a man that was in the Revoluntary War. He is thought to be the only one buried in MN. Very cool place with unique headstones.
We got to spend more time with BIll's family and also with another cousin of mine. Such fun to catch up. It was fun to go to Slippery's with all the Grumpy Old Men references.
We did not try the Grumpy's ice cream - should have!
Good smells in here!
