Amelia and Talbot Islands

We had a perfect day on Little and Big Talbot islands doing a few hikes. We spent some time on the beach on Little Talbot. The ocean was rolling today! So fun to see all the shells and walk in the water. We went to Big Talbot Island and hiked to Black Rock Beach. Yep - there were black rocks suddenly on the sandy beach. Well, actually we researched and learned they are not even rocks - it is organic material... not sure what that means but they look like lava rocks. No explanation of where they came from. But the hike was fun through the sand dunes, palm ferns and the 'forested' area.

We went onto Amelia Island and enjoyed exploring the big houses and holiday decorations. We tried to walk by Fantastic Fudge Shop but we couldn't do it with the amazing smells coming from inside. We ended up with a nice piece of creamy fudge!

Then we spent some time by the water at Sliders Seaside Grill. It was fun to watch the people on the beach and enjoy the 80 degree sunshine. Bill decided he had enough beer when we saw a boat drive by on the road. LOL! Local man owns the car - we heard he brings the car/boat out for parades and just for fun to see the double takes that people give him.
