Sauk Centre

Sauk Centre is a nice quiet town. Our campground was lovely and we enjoyed relaxing by the lake. It is the hometown of Sinclair Lewis so we drove by his house and started listening to Main Street - the audiobook.

We took at drive along the water and ended in the city of Grey Eagle. We had dinner at Historic Rock Tavern which overlooks Big Birch Lake.

The next day we headed to Alexandria. You can't go there without a visit to see Big Ole. Bill found a combination winery and brewery called Carlos Creek so we stopped there to relax and enjoy the beautiful day. On the way we saw the longest group of geese... they just kept coming up from the ditch and wandering across! South Dakota may have bison blocking the road but here in Minnesota - we have geese!

Next stop - Watertown SD.
