Lititz
What a cute little town! We started our time in Lititz with a tour - the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery - which claims to be the oldest pretzel bakery in America. The tour guide was wonderful and we got to roll our own pretzel! The history of the company was very interesting and at the end - we got to try some of their hard pretzels. The soft pretzels are still hand twisted but the hard ones are one with a mold. Very different then what we typically find in a bagged pretzel - more light - just better overall. I would recommend. We also had to buy a warm soft pretzel. Overall very fun 30+ minutes for $4/person.
After a stroll through town admiring the old buildings and fun shops, we landed at Wilbur chocolate. We had to the do the taste comparison test. Wilbur vs Hershey. The decision - no contest. Wilbur is hands down better.
When near Lancaster we had to go see some covered bridges and saw a few Amish in buggies. We also had to stop in Dutch Haven to try our first bite of Shoo Fly Pie. One bite lead to the purchase of a whole pie.
Finally a drive through Intercourse, PA because - well just because...I did decline the offer of a t-shirt from the town however.
